The Uprising Approaches

It’s been a few months since we added any Leatherat news. Those of you who follow our facebook or twitter feed will doubtless know that we’ve been busy creating our latest album in the studio. Our good friend Mark Lee is at the controls and hitting “the good button” with gay abandon! We’re past the halfway point now; at the time of writing Pete is busy laying down his vocal tracks, next week Jono will layer the fiddle parts (thus transforming rock into folk-rock ;o). Hugh, Pete, Jem and Jim have done an incredible job on the album so far… I’m listening to the tracks as I type and you really are in for a treat! You may have noticed from the ever expanding gig list that the album launch is set for May 6th and will (of course) take place at The Mill Theatre in glorious Banbury. Tickets will be limited… I will say that only once!

In the meantime, we’re already performing a good deal of material from the new album. Thanks to everybody that joined us at The Boiler Room in Guildford for a great night in a packed venue. Everyone who was with us at The Drill Hall in Lincoln too last Friday night… what a night with the Woodshed Nasties! Expect to see more double headers with us and these guys.

In the coming weeks, there’s some great chances to see us (and some other cracking bands) live. This Saturday, we’re really excited to be playing at “The Black Market” in Warsop (NOTTS). This promises to be a real spanker of a night! We’re sharing the stage with Pressgang, the terrifying Ferocious Dog and Seven Little Sisters. Check out the gigs page for more shows.

That’s it for now folks but keep your eyes peeled and your ears pinned back… Leatherat’s “Uprising” is on it’s way. Join us.
